The black Oldenburg bred Dettori became the winner of the 2016 KWPN Spring Stallion Performance Testing in Ermelo, The Netherlands, which concluded on Sunday 22 May 2016.
Bred by S. Tietje in Germany and owned by Jan Greven and Rob van Ruitenbeek, Dettori is by Desperado out of Diamond Eye (by De Niro) and scored a total of 85 points. The stallion scored 9s for self carriage and rideability.
"Time and time again Dettori stood out with his suppleness and swing and his ability to collect," said Bert Rutten, chair of the KWPN Stallion Licensing Committee.
Eight stallions in total successfully completed the spring performance testing and are now fully licensed to breed for the KWPN society. Fourteen dressage bred colts had initially started the testing.
The runner-up of the test was In Style, a KWPN bred Eye Catcher x Lorentin offspring owned by Joop van Uytert. He scored 84.5 points in total and also got a 9 for rideability. The third highest scoring stallion with 83.5 points was I'm Perfect (by Zack x Fidertanz), bred and owned by Lens and Berna Nekeman.
The licensed stallions which passed the testing are:

- In Style (by Eye Catcher x Lorentin I) - 84,5 points
- I’m Perfect STH (by Zack x Fidertanz) - 83,5 points
- Imagine (by Chippendale x Jazz) - 83 points
- It’s A Pleasure (by Dark Pleasure x Zack) - 81 points
- Improver VDT (by Apache x Ferro) - 79 points
- Impression (by Don Schufro x Ferro) - 78 points
- Inspire (by Everdale x Don Romantic) - 76,5 points
On 24 May the 6-year old Four Legends KS (by Wynton) concluded his shorter 21-day performance test with 85 points. The stallion already competed at the 2015 Pavo Cup Finals (3rd place) and at the 2015 World Young Horse Championships (6th).
