German Grand Prix rider Juliane Brunkhorst has lost the ride on her number one GP horse, Sieger Hit. The 11-year old formerly licensed Oldenburg stallion was picked up by owner Jens Peter Aggesen and moved to Andreas Helgstrand's yard.
Sieger Hit (by Sandro hit x Donnerhall x Classiker) was the 2007 Oldenburg Licensing Champion and is bred by Georg Sieverding. He was never truly popular as a breeding stallion and got gelded in 2013 so he could be focused on sport.
The horse was first trained by Eckhard Wahlers and then he moved to Helgstrand's yard for nearly two years. Juliane took over the ride in 2012 and trained him to Grand Prix. They booked their first big success by finishing sixth at the 2015 Louisdor Cup Finals in Frankfurt.
The pair won several national Grand Prix classes in Behrendorf, Hanstedt, Oesterholz and Scharmbeck before breaking through internationally. They contested the CDI Lier, CDI Hagen and CDI-W Neumünster. At the most recent CDI Mannheim the pair had issues in the piaffe. Their last show together was the CDI Wiesbaden, where they were 9th in the Grand Prix and 6th in the Special.
Brunkhorst received a big blow when the horse got picked up just days before the 2016 German Dressage Championships. The pair was B-team listed. She is based in Moorrege, Germany with her partner Hartwig Burfeind.
Sieger Hit is the full brother to Spanish owned Silver Black and closely related to the Oldenburg licensing champion Furstenball.
