The dressage world can boast a new world class. The Balearen Tour at the prestigious Es Fangar estate on Mallorca is the new shooting star event amongst the CDI 5* competitions hosted world wide. The competition enthuses the horse world with its mediterranean charm and draws riders and spectators from all over the world. The sunny island of Mallorca will intrigue competitors and visitors alike this year with two weeks of top level dressage competition. A CDN and CDI 4* will be held on 29 September - 2 October 2016 followed by a CDI 5* on 6 - 10 October 2016.
The Balearen Tour kicked off in 2014 as a 4* event with riders and horses from 17 nations travelling to the island to experience high performance sport in warm temperatures cooled to perfection by a mediterranean sea breeze. Hosted at the 1000 hectare bio vineyard estate Es Fangar the best conditions are offered for riders, horses and spectators. They enjoyed fun and fair sport and relaxed horses while over 10,000 international visitors checked in at this event. A record crowd of over 100,000 viewers watched it on live streaming, which exceeded all expectations. This motivated the Balearen Tour team to add an extra star to its 2016 event and it will host the only 5* dressage competition in Spain.
The Only 5* CDI in Spain, Great Names Already Confirmed
The CDI Mallorca is known for high level sport achievements by rider and horse as well as enthusiastic applause and admiration from the crowds. The show is also renowned for its big purse of prize money offered to the riders. In 2015 four cars and further gifts were awarded to the winners alongside the prize money.

This year Es Fangar will host two weekends of international competition. It will be the only CDI 5* in Spain, taking place after the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio. The Balearen Tour Team is one of only 12 show organizers in the world to host a 5*.
The Balearen Tour is drawing an Olympic field to Mallorca! The big stars of the dressage sport, such as Isabell Werth and Beatriz Ferrer-Salat, have already confirmed their entry. Also Maribel Alonso, head of the ground jury at the Rio Olympic Games, will be officiating at Es Fangar.
