Nanna Skodborg Merrald and Traneenggaards Akondo were forced to drop out of the Danish team for the 2016 European Under Championships which start tomorrow in Hagen, Germany, on 17 June 2016. They will be replaced by Anna Zibrandtsen.
Nanna Skodborg Merrald and her 14-year old Danish warmblood Akondo (by Come Back II x Andiamo x Rambo) had to withdraw right before the horse inspection at the Europeans because the dark bay ran a temperature.
"Unfortunately Akondo was ill with fever and had to seen by the team vet," team captain Rigmor Kristensen told Ridehesten. "There as nothing to do about it. This is of course very annoying as Nanna and Akondo were considered anchors of the team."
Merrald has been replaced by the team reserve Anna Zibrandtsen on the 12-year old Hanoverian Rentino (by Rosario x De Niro x Walt Disney I).
"I expect them all to put in good performances as we are still amongst the best in Europe," Kristensen added. "The whole team is in good spirits."
