Today, Friday 1 July 2016, the 22nd Manfred Swarovski Memorial Show will start at Evelyn and Klaus Haim-Swarovski's Schindlhof in the Tyrolian alps in Fritzens, Austria. With 61 riders from 22 nations and 83 horses appearing at the starters' line, a touch of Rio will happen in the Schindlhof show ring. We will see Isabell Werth and company back in the Olympic arena in Brazil later this summer.
Isabell Werth, Dorothee Schneider and Jessica von Bredow-Werndl are all on the German Olympic long list. Werth (GPS) and Schneider (Kur) are both the current German Championships and achieved scores of over 80% with their top horses.
"We can look forward to top sport. For many international participants the Olympic qualifications are still going on in their country," hosts Klaus and Evelyn explained.
For the very first time, Fritzens will also host the Austrian Para Dressage Championships and for them it's the final Paralympic team qualifier. Three tickets for the team are up for grabs besides an already qualified Pepo Puch, the 2012 Paralympic gold and bronze medalist.
Alongside the top competitive atmosphere for the dressage competition there will also be ambiance during the show programs on Saturday and Sunday. The most successful vaulting duo in the world will be showing their acrobatics on a horse. Jasmin Lindner and Lukas Wacha will travel from the neighbouring village Pill to Fritzens with their coach and lunger Klaus Haidacher for a demonstration. They are the current World and European Champions in the Pas de Deux.

The Manfred Swarovski Trophy is given to the most successful pair of
the CDI4* Schindlhof (the percentages of the GP and GP Special
respectively of the GP and GP Freestyle are added together). The winner
is allowed to take home this valuable Swarovski crystal piece for a
year. After winning three times the winner is allowed to keep the trophy
for good. In 2014, Austria’s 13-time state champion Victoria
Max-Theurer achieved this.
