Spanish Grand Prix rider Agusti Elias has acquired the 6-year old Dutch warmblood gelding Eddieni and is aiming to compete him at the 2016 World Young Horse Championships.
Eddieni (by Johnson x Negro x Monaco) is bred by Lex and Evelien Trouwborst and was trained and competed by Theo Hanzon. The pair won the 5-year old Dutch Young Horse championships in 2014 and finished 9th in the 2014 Pavo Cup Finals. Last April Hanzon already showed the 6-year old at small tour level.
Elias is married to Bermudan dressage rider Annabel Collins and they live in Can Alzina, Spain, near Barcelona. They have been hosting the CDI Barcelona for the past few years but in 2016 the edition was skipped for one year and should return in 2017.
Hanzon and Eddieni are short listed for the Dutch semi-finals for team selection for the 2016 World Young Horse Championships in Ermelo, The Netherlands, on 29 - 31 July 2016. Elias will take over the ride and show the chestnut gelding at the semi-finals in an attempt to qualify him for the WCYH in Ermelo himself.
