Swiss Olympian Marcela Krinke-Susmelj has a new rising Grand Prix star in her stable, the 8-year old Westfalian gelding Carissimo.
While Krinke-Susmelj is now in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to compete as a Swiss individual in the 2016 Olympic Games, her new horse has arrived at her yard in Switzerland.
"Everything these days involves the Olympic Games, well at least almost everything. There is a reason for me to already look forward to going home," Krinke admitted. "Basis for that is our new horse Carissimo."
Krinke's sponsor Irina Meyers has acquired the 8-year old Westfalian (by Caretino x Lavaletto) to strengthen Marcela's team of horses. Carissimo is bred by Johannes Jakobs and was previously owned by Helmut von Fircks. The bay gelding made his show debut in May 2012 at A-level under Tessa Frank. Their last show was at Intermediaire II level in June 201 in Babenhausen, Germany.
"He impresses with his rideability , talent and three top basic gaits," said Marcela. "I am grateful and looking forward to our sportive future with this talented horse."
