The black colt Le Formidable was named 2016 KWPN Foal Champion in dressage at the 2016 KWPN Horse Days in Ermelo, The Netherlands, on 13 August 2016.
The black beauty is by Bordeaux out of elite preferent mare Vienna (by Ferro). Le Formidable is bred and owned by Saskia Poel and K.F. Gerrits from Heusden, The Netherlands. Dam Vienna also produced the KWPN licensed stallion Four Legends KS, who finished fourth at the 2016 World Young Horse Championships and sold at the Excellent Dressage Sales auction for 605,000 euro to Taiwan.
Ten dressage bred foals made it the champion's ring. The reserve champion was the colt Landal G (by Ghandi x Rousseau), bred by M de Groot.
Ghandi sired no less than three foals that qualified for the champion's rind. Ferdinand sired two. One of them, Look at Me (by Ferdinand x Oscar) was the bronze medalist. This colt is bred by L Meewisse-Taal and M. Kostelijk.
