With the 2016 Nurnberger Burgpokal Finals rapidly approaching at the 2016 CDI Frankfurt next week, the field of finalists is changing much in the lead up to these German Developing Prix St Georges Championships. Two qualificants - Furst Levantino and Sweetheart FH - have dropped out and will be replaced by two new substitute pairs.
The horses that won the twelve separate qualifiers throughout the 2016 show season automatically qualified for the annual Finals in Frankfurt. Two of Ingrid Klimke's horses won two qualifiers so in that case the second placed pair fills in the spot.
The original twelve qualified horses were Furst Levantino, Suppenkasper, Destiny OLD, Geraldine, Escolar, Sweetheart, Franziskus, Vitalis, Benaglio, Frizzantino, Chocolat and Damon's Satelite.
Two weeks ago Escolar already dropped out due to an injury and got substituted by Fiderdance. Today, it was announced that Isabel Freese's Furst Levantino (by Furst Romancier x Sandro Hit), who won the Hagen qualifier, as well as Marcus Hermes' Sweetheart FH (by Scolari x Hohenstein), who won the Werder qualifier, are both no-shows for Frankfurt.
These two pairs will be replaced by Kira Wulferding aboard the Oldenburg stallion For Romance (by Furst Romancier x Sir Donnerhall) and Charlott Marie Schurmann on the Danish warmblood Robinho (by Romanov x Don Schufro).
