Mount St. John, Great Britain's premier dressage breeding facility in Felixkirk, York, is celebrating a highly successful 2016 in breeding and sport. At the 2016 British Dressage Championships Mount St. John mares won at Advanced medium and Novice level as well as claimed a triple in the 5-years old division. Charlotte Dujardin, who trains and competes three of Mount St. John mares, has named Mount St. John Freestyle as her biggest Grand Prix hope for the future.
Dujardin Tips Mount St. John Freestyle as Future Star
Olympic champion Dujardin became the 2016 British Advanced Medium Champion on Freestyle (by Fidermark) and Prix St Georges reserve champion. At only 7 years old Freestyle was the youngest horse to compete in both these classes.
"I'm bursting with pride after a day watching the three mares we have in training with Charlotte Dujardin," said Emma Jane Blundell after her December 8 visit to Carl Hester's yard. "They all excelled expectations and have come on leaps and bounds in the recent weeks. Thank you Charlotte for all you do for the girls, we can't wait to see them all out next season!"
Freestyle was purchased as a foal at the Verden Elite auction before being raised at Mount St. John. The bay mare joined Charlotte Dujardin two years ago for further training.
"She is now a triple BD National Champion aged 7 years old and we are looking forward to starting her full small tour in 2017. Meanwhile three of her embryo transfer offspring will be soon coming out under saddle," said Blundell.
Jessica Michel Invests in MSJ Foals
French Olympian and former Grand Prix team rider and National ChampionJessica Michel-Botton has acquired two of the star MSJ colts of 2016. She purchased MSJ Benchmark (by Bordeaux colt out of Dejavu (by Dicaprio)) and MSJ Dot Com (by Don Juan out of Divertimenti (by Dimaggio)).
"We are very proud and thankful Jessica chose MSJ," said Emma. "We wish her lots of success with these super colts and we are excited to continue following their journey into becoming dressage stars of the future."
Klara Bothmann Added to the Riders' Team

"We are very happy to have a caring and motivated new rider to help with the 16 riding horses we have here and excited for the possibilities we have together for the future," said Emma.
