The brand new additions to the stallion roster of the Dressage Performance Centre Lodbergen (DLZ) convinced and impressed the crowds which came in droves to the 2016 Winter Breeders' Meeting at the centre on Sunday 11 December 2016.

Never before did so many visitors, of which many were from abroad, attend the meeting to witness the new stallions for the 2017 breeding season.

Urs Schweizer, DLZ managing director, lived up to his promise: The strict performance and pedigree selected youngsters Best For Me OLD, Finest Selection, Don Indigo, Quel Plaisir and Sensation enthused all.

The Winter Breeders Meeting began with the under saddle presentation of the 4-year old Best for Me OLD (by Bretton Woods x Latimer). Under Melanie Tewes he was fourth at the 2016 Bundeschampionate and third at the 2016 Oldenburg Young Horse Championships. He also produced top results at his 50-day Stallion Performance Test. The gorgeous liver chestnut has a good dose of nobility in his pedigree, just like the recently Oldenburg approved Finest Selection. The black from the first crop of the Lodbergen based licensing champion Follow Me OLD offers the right amount of thoroughbred blood through dam sire Lauries Crusador xx.

The chocolate coated Quel Plaisir (by Quantensprung) was licensed in Münster-Handorf at the end of November and comes from the famous Majorin III damline.  The fourth addition in Lodbergen is Sensation, which DLZ has leased for the season. This black Sir Heinrich OLD x Casparino offspring impressed at the licensing in Münster-Handorf with his unlimited movement potential.

Don Indigo (by Don Index x Rasclino) has been reared in Lodbergen just like Best For Me OLD, Finest Selection and Quel Plaisir, and he was licensed in Mecklenburg. He has been leased by stallion station Rüscher-Konermann in Greven for the season.

"We are very happy with the great interest shown by breeders for our stallions and new young colts," said Schweizer. "I'm grateful to trainers Wolfram Wittig, Johann Hinnemann, Klaus Balkenhol and Bernhard Fischer for their expert commentary on the stallions at the Meeting. Now we are eagerly looking forward to the new breeding season and hope that also our youngsters will present themselves equally well under saddle. We are excited about the upcoming foals. Frascino will be producing his first crop in 2017."

The next meeting with the DLZ-stallions will be at the Stallion Show in Vechta on 19 February 2017.
