The Oldenburg and Westfalian breed society both held their stallion approvals on Thursday 15 December 2016: Oldenburg accepted four dressage bred stallions and Westfalen approved six.
At the Oldenburg approval in Vechta, Germany, the approved dressage colts were Gestut Bonhomme's Dimagico (by Dimaggio x Jazz Time x Escudo) and Gestut Staffelde's Hanoverian bred Quantissimo (by Quantensprung x Distelzar x De Niro). Gestut Tannenhof's San Heinrich GT (by San Amour x Furst Heinrich x Wolkentanz II) has been limited to 30 mares after which his crop of foals will be inspected. The nameless Totilas x Special D x Zeoliet, owned by D. Stippl, has been limited to 20 mares until he completes his Stallion Performance Test.
At the Westfalian approval in Munster-Handorf, the breed society gave a positive verdict to six stallions: some were licensed, others were submitted to the Stallion Book I and a few were "accepted to the Westfalian breeding programme". The licensed dressage stallions were a Hanoverian bred Danubio (by Dancier x Sandro Hit x Hohenstein - owned by Wilhelm Holkenbrink) and the Oldenburg bred Vito Corleone S (by Vivaldi x Donnerhall x Pike Bube I), owned by the Estonian Linnea Parnaste-Virve, but this stallion is limited to 20 mares. Accepted for the Westfalian breeding programme are the Polish bred Trakehner Kros (by Ajbek x Sword xx x Lwow) and the Hanoverian bred Frisco (by Furstenball x Stedinger x White Star). Submitted to the Main Stallion Book I are Michael Kuik's Oldenburg Don de Hall (by Don Juan de Hus x Donnerhall x Pik Bube I) and Ludger Knapmöller's Hanoverian Furst Wallenstein (by Furst Nymphenburg x Walt Disney x Lemon xx).
