Dressage rider Laura Tomlinson and British I-judges Peter Storr, Sandy Phillips and Isobel Wessels will be the hosts of the 2017 British National Judges Convention to be Held at Addington Manor EC, Buckinghamshire on Tuesday 18 April 2017.
With vast experience across the board in riding, training and judging at the highest levels, our four hosts will be delivering an event that is unmissable and useful to all judges, trainers and riders – whatever your level.
The hosts are:
Laura Tomlinson MBE – Bringing the rider’s point of view to the Judges Convention, Laura Tomlinson needs no introduction. With her stunning partner Mistral Hojris Laura competed at both the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing and the 2012 Olympic Games in London. She was of course an instrumental team member contributing to the historic 2012 Team Gold as well as winning a bronze medal in the individual competition. Living in Gloucestershire with her husband Mark and daughter Annalisa, Laura is now concentrating on training her string of talented horses for future success.
Peter Storr – Popular former International rider and current FEI 4* Judge Peter Storr brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the convention arena. With the striking chestnut stallion Gambrinus Peter competed at the 2002 World Equestrian Games following the 2001 European Championships; the combination were also reserves for the British Team heading to the Sydney Olympics in 2002 and were shortlisted for the Athens Olympics in 2004. Having hung up his competition boots Peter is now a much sought after judge worldwide.
Sandy Phillips – Sandy has competed at a total of four World Equestrian Games, one European Championships and One Olympic Games alongside holding numerous National Championship titles. As well as being a former BD senior selector, Sandy is an FEI 4* Judge and has been on the ground jury of countless International shows including European Championships.
Isobel Wessels – Having trained many horses to Grand Prix and won no less than 10 national titles aboard star horse Chagall, Isobel Wessels is no stranger to success. Alongside riding, competing and training, Isobel has also achieved the status of FEI 5* Judge making her one of only three in Britain next to Stephen Clarke and Andrew Gardner. Within this role she has judged multiple European Championships for U21s riders, World Cup qualifiers, Nations Cup competitions and this year the World Young Horse Championships.
As one of the most successful and popular events on the British Dressage calendar, the 2017 National Judges Convention is set to be a valuable and exciting day for all.
