German Isabell Werth became the biggest earner of prize money during the 2016 show season according to statistics gathered by the Dutch score and pedigree data company. Werth bagged 215,027 euro prize money in 2016.
Werth led the final 2016 ranking in earnings with several horses. She cashed 111,975 euro on Weihegold, while Emilio made 61,622 euro. Werth further built that total with Don Johnson (27,460 euro), El Santo and Belantis.
The second most earning rider is German Jessica von Bredow-Werndl who cashed 137,315 euro on Unee BB and Zaire EE. Swedish Patrik Kittel made 116,918 euro with Deja (65,113 euro), Delaunay and Scandic and became the third best earning rider of the year.
Swedish Tinne Vilhelmson-Silfvén was not far off from her team mate with 115,259 euro in earnings, while 2016 World Cup champion Hans Peter Minderhoud made 111,475 euro with Flirt and Johnson.
The top 10 further included Kristina Bröring-Sprehe (98,225 euro), Dorothee Schneider (95,455 euro), Fabienne Lütkemeier (84,630 euro), Judy Reynolds (76,190 euro) and Severo Jurado Lopez (59,581).
