The 4-year old Darjeeling (by Don Darius x Royal Blend) became the top seller of the 2017 Hanoverian Winter Auction in Verden, Germany, selling for 200,000 euro to Luxembourg.
Bred by Klaus Kropp in Bremen, Darjeeling was presented at the auction by owner Filijan Müller. He sold to Patrice Mourruau of Grand Ducal Dressage in Luxembourg, the sponsor of German born dressage rider Sascha Schulz and his partner, judge Christoph Umbach. The auction price of 200,000 euro was an absolute record for a winter auction in Verden.
The second most expensive horse was the 4-year old mare Fraulein Polly (by Furst Romancier x Connery), which sold for 76,000 euro to a German client. The 5-year old gelding Foster (by Furst Romancier x Stedinger) sold for 74,000 euro abroad.
The 5-year old gelding Leonardo von Edemissen (by Londontime x Acord II) moves abroad for 42,000 euro, while the 5-year old gelding Wyndigo (by Wynton x Don Schufro) found new owners abroad for 39,000 euro.
The best selling show jumper was Sam XL (by Stanley x Conteur) which switched owners for 33,000 euro. The 1.80 meter standing 5-year old sold to a local yard.
A total of 87 riding horses were sold at this auction and they achieved an average price of 18,879 euro. Spanish customers bought no less than 10 horses, 9 horses move to France and 6 to Switzerland.
