Danish Under 25 Grand Prix horse Traneenggaards Akondo has been sold to the U.S.A. The 15-year old Danish warmblood gelding will continue his career as a junior rider's horse with 15-year old Emma Asher.
Bred by Eva Bjerre Nielsen, the dark bay Traneenggaards Akondo is by Come Back II out of Jako's Akido (by Andiamo x Rambo). He was owned by Stein and Camilla Christensen of Calista Holding AS.
"The biggest love of my life, best friend and soulmate is sold to the US. It is now an extremely lucky young girl who is taking over the ride of King A," said Camilla Christensen, who is a contestant for Miss Norway 2017.
Camilla competed Akondo at young riders level in 2013 and represented Norway at the 2013 European Young Riders Championships, where they finished 22nd in the individual test. In 2015 they made the transition to Under 25 Grand Prix level.
In October 2015 Danish Grand Prix rider Nanna Skodborg Merrald took over the ride and scored a series of successful wins in the Under 25 division with the big gelding. They contested the Under 25 classes in Odense, Braunschweig, and Falsterbo with six victories and 3 second places out of the 9 international classes they rode.
Skodborg Merrald qualified for the Danish team for the 2016 European Under 25 Championships, but right before departure to Hagen, Germany, the horse had a temperature and had to be withdrawn from the team.
