At the 2017 Trakehner Spring licensing in Munster-Handorf the Trakehner licensing committee gave a positive verdict to two stallions: Freiherr von Stein and Mount Etna xx.
The spring Trakehner licensing is always the smaller version, a sort of late licensing opportunity for breeders, held at the Westfalian headquarters in Munster-Handorf. The licensing concludes with the very well attended Trakehner stallion show.
Nine colts were entered for assessment in hope of getting approved but only two made the cut. Three 3-year olds, two performance tested stallions, two English thoroughbreds, one Arabian and one Anglo Arabian.
The Saxon state stud of Moritzburg is the breeder and owner of the approved Freiherr von Stein (by Millennium x Perechlest). The already 14-day performance tested stallion was praised for his correct conformation and swinging movements.
The 15-year old chestnut Thoroughbred Mount Etna xx (by Mister Bailey xx x Mana Mou xx) is bred by the Irish Airlie stud and was discovered for Germany by the late Ursula Mittermayer. He already stood at stud in Celle and is owned by Simone Lindemeier Trippel.
