Right after the press conference for the Grand Prix on Thursday 30 March 2017, Carl Hester assisted in the draw for the order of go for the Kur to Music at the 2017 World Cup Finals in Omaha, NE, U.S.A. Once again Isabell Werth has been drawn in the most favourable position to go, as last rider of the class.
Werth's luck with the drawn this 2017 show season has been endless. On numerous occassions at qualifiers as well as here at the finals in Omaha she has been drawn last to go.
A year ago, the FEI quietly changed the rules for the draw system, now basing it on the World Riders Ranking. The highest ranked riders are always drawn in the last group to go. The FEI changed this to answer to the needs of television, setting aside the argument to create a level field of play. Scientific evidence has proven that combinations riding at the end of the class are scored higher.
The Freestyle starts at 14.15h local time on Saturday 1 April 2017.
