The Danish warmblood bred and registered Texas Tokio (by Tomahawk x Zack x Michellino) was named the champion of the 2017 Oldenburg saddle licensing held in Vechta, Germany, on 28 - 30 March 2017.
Bred by Lena and Rasmus Dalsgaard in Denmark and owned by American Jaime White-Welling, Texas Tokio was one of three premium stallions at this saddle licensing. Unlike at the traditional in-hand licensing in November, the Oldenburg licensing committee allows foreign bred stallions to earn a premium title in the saddle licensing. Texas Tokio was rejected at the 2016 Oldenburg Licensing last November, but redeemed himself this week and made it all the way to the champion's title.
Sixteen stallions were entered for the Oldenburg saddle licensing, 13 showed up, 8 were licensed and three became premium.
The reserve champion was the Danish bred and Oldenburg registered HP Damian (by Damon Hill x Furst Romancier), bred and owned by Lone Boegh Henriksen. The Dutch warmblood registered Desperado x Jazz x Visioen offspring, bred by the Andeweg family and owned by Ad Valk, was the third premium stallion.
The other licensed stallions are Jan Frieling's Bordeaux x Argentinus, Heiko Klausing's Vivaldi x Samarant, Lone Boegh Henriksen's MSJ Cashmere (by Charmeur x Totilas) and Valeriya Yunaeva's San Amour II x De Niro.
