The KWPN breed society has released the statistics about foal birth in 2016, which led to the conclusion that Glamourdale was the most popular KWPN breeding stallion in 2015.
In 2016 the KWPN breed society registered 10,033 foals in total, of which 4,006 foals were dressage bred, 5,296 were jumping bred and 731 were harness bred or Gelderlander.
The best producer in 2016, which means the most used stallion of 2015, was Glamourdale (by Lord Leatherdale x Negro) with 243 KWPN registered foals. Glamourdale was the champion of the 2014 KWPN Stallion Licensing and scored 85.5 points at the spring stallion testing.
Following far in a distance is Guardian S (by Bodyguard x Trento B) with 166 registered foals, followed by Governor (by Totilas x Jazz) in third place with 157 registered foals.
The top 5 is completed by Ferdeaux (by Bordeaux x Ferro) with 152 foals and Grand Galaxy Win (by Apache x Jazz) with 135 foals.
This top 5 is good for 853 foals out of the 4,006 registered dressage foals, which is 21% of the registered foals. Breeders used no less than 289 different dressage sires to register those 4,006 KWPN foals in 2016.
