The show jumper Chapeau Ciaco was the high scoring stallion at the 14-day Stallion Suitability Test held in Adelheidsdorf, Germany, on 6 - 19 April 2017. Thirty-one dressage and jumper stallions participated in the testing.
For licensed stallions to retain their licensed status, stallions have to score at least 7.5 overall, or 8.0 or higher in either the dressage or the jumping phase.
The German Sport Horse bred Chapeau Ciaco (by Clintas x Ciacomini x Gaspari II) was the best scoring stallion with a total of 8.35 points, receiving 8.13 for dressage and 8.23 for show jumping. He got 8.5 - 9.5 for character, 8 for trot, 8.5 for canter and 7 for walk, 9 for rideability, 8 for jumping in freedom and 9 from the test rider.
The best scoring dressage stallion was the German Sport Horse bred Don Royal (by Don Juan de Hus x Rubin Royal x Gotland) who scored a total of 8.20 points with 8.79 for dressage and 7.2 for show jumping. He got 9 for character, 8.5 for trot and canter, 9 for walk, 9 for rideability, 6.5 for jumping in freedom and 9.25 from the test rider.
The 2016 Oldenburg licensing champion Furst Fabrice (by Furstenball) scored 7.85 points with 8.55 for dressage and 6.70 for show jumping.
Two dressage stallions failed to score the required criteria and lose their licensed status: Damontez (by Damon Hill - 7.15) and a nameless Millennium offspring (6.55).
