The French and American equestrian federations have announced their team that will compete in the first FEI Nations' Cup leg on European soil this 2017 show season at the CDIO Compiègne in France on 18 - 21 May 2017.
Emmanuelle Schramm, FFE technical director for dressage, and team trainer Jan Bemelmans confirmed the team with the following riders which will represent France on home turf in the Nations Cup:
- Stéphanie Brieussel with Amorak, owned by Stéphanie and Dominique Brieussel
- Ludovic Henry with After You, owned by Giorgia, Alexandre and Ludovic Henry
- Karen Tebar with Ricardo, owned by the rider
- Pierre Volla with Badinda Altena, owned by the rider
US Equestrian has selected four seasoned competitors on the U.S. team for the CDIO Compiegne, where youth team trainer Charlotte Bredahl-Baker will serve as chef d'equipe.
The American team includes:
- Shelly Francis (Loxahatchee, Fla.) with Patricia Stempel’s Danilo, a 2004 Hanoverian gelding
- Jennifer Hoffmann (San Diego, Calif.) with her own and Jurgen Hoffmann’s Rubinio NRW, a 2003 Westfalian gelding
- Arlene Page (Wellington, Fla.) with her own Woodstock, a 2003 Dutch Warmblood gelding
- Kathleen Raine (Murrieta, Calif.) with her own, Jennifer Mason, and David Wightman’s Breanna, a 2000 Hanoverian mare
Francis' Doktor and Page's Dr. House are nominated as direct reserve horses
