The 5-year old Dominy and the 6-year old Florenz became the winners of the Bundeschampionate qualification classes held in Bülkau on Friday 26 May 2017. A huge field of twenty-six 5-year olds and ten 6-year olds rallyed in Bülkau to earn a ticket to Warendorf and no less than 12 horses achieved the criterium.
The 5-year old L-level dressage horse test was action-packed and Swedish Olympic team rider Therese Nilshagen topped the board with a whopping score of 8.8 on Lodbergen's Bavarian licensed stallion Dominy (by Diamond Hit x Pour Plaisir). The liver chestnut stallion scored 9 for trot, 9.5 for walk, 8.5 for canter, 8 for submission and 9 for general impression. Anne-Kathrin Pohlmeier and Helmut von Fircks' Hanoverian stallion Spotlight (by Sir Donnerhall x Wolkentanz I) were the runners-up with 8.4. The black stallion got 7.5 for walk, 8.5 for trot, 9 for canter, and 8.5 for submission and general impression.
In the 6-year old division, Rieke Schnieder took the Hanoverian stallion Florenz (by Florencio x Sandro Hit) into the winner's circle with 8.3. The dark bay stallion got 8.5 for walk, trot, canter, 7.5 for submission and 8.5 for general impression. Anne Kathrin Pohlmeier finished second once more, this time with the Hanoverian mare Flambeau (by Furstenball x Wolkentanz) on a score of 8.2. the mare earned 8 for trot, 8.5 for walk and canter, 7.5 for submission and 8.5 for general impression.
