The 5-year old Dolcetto and the 6-year old Brenda AW were the winners of the Bundeschampionate qualification classes held at the regional show at Niershof in Mönchengladbach on Sunday 2 July 2017. The judges officiating at this show were Rolf Peter Fuss, Eckhard Wemhöner and Catrin Wingender.
In the 5-year old division Stefanie Wittmann and Katrin Seidenstücker's Rhinelander gelding Dolcetto (by Diamo Gold x Stedinger) won the L-level dressage horse class with an 8.3 score. They were the only pair to achieve the qualification criterium of 8.0 or more in the class. Dolcetto got 8 for walk, 8.5 for trot and canter, 8 for submission and 8.5 for general impression. Stefanie Wolf and Claudia Heicke's Rhinelander licensed stallion Arango (by Apache x Fidermark) were the runners-up with 7.8. The stallion got 8 for walk and trot, 7.5 for canter and submission and 8 for general impression.
After winning the qualifier in Hamm-Rhynern in May, Stefanie Friess and the Hanoverian mare Brenda AW (by Belstaff x Lauries Crusador xx) also won the trophy in Mönchengladbach, this time with an 8.0 score. The chestnut mare got 8.5 for walk and canter, 8 for trot, 7 for submission and 8 for general impression. Katharina Kreft and the back mare Daraja (by Dancier x Rotspon) were second with 7.8. The mare got 7.5 for walk and canter, and 8 for trot, submission and general impression.
