Anna Zibrandtsen and Arlando have withdrawn from competing in the third round of the 2017 Danish Dressage Championships in Broholm on Sunday 9 July 2017. The pair will focus on preparing for the CDIO Aachen instead.
Anna Zibrandtsen acquired Diederik van Silfhout's 2016 Olympic ride Arlando (by Paddox x Mytens xx) in April 2017 as her Danish Grand Prix team hopeful.
The 2017 Danish Championships this weekend are an important team selection trial for the 2017 European Championships in Gothenburg, Sweden on 22 - 26 August 2017. In the Grand Prix Zibrandtsen and Arlando were 8th with 70.420%, in the Grand Prix Special the pair finished 5th with 72.451%.
In agreement with Danish team trainer Nathalie zu Sayn-Wittgenstein, Zibrandtsen has now decided not to ride the third round, the Grand Prix Kur.
"He's top fit, but we still want to save hum now that we are no longer in the running for a Danish Championship medal," Zibrandtsen explained.
Danish team captain Kimi Nielsen rung in: "we try to make an individual plan for each horse and combination, so we can get the best out of each of them."
All Danish team candidates for Gothenburg, with the exception of the absent Donnperignon, were checked by the team veterinarian after the second round of the National Championships for confirm their health and fitness.
