The second day at the 2017 CDI Cappeln at Gestut Vorwerk saw a rider from Germany and Luxembourg take the trophies for winning their FEI level class. Christoph Koschel won the Intermediaire A while Helen Langehanenberg made her winning debut in the GP Freestyle with Suppenkasper.
Helen Langehanenberg was the measure of all things with Suppenkasper and their 75.97 percent in the Grand Prix freestyle test. "Suppenkasper's first international kur performance was exciting for me, too," said the Olympic Games-team silver winner in London/GBR, "after all, you never know how the horse reacts in this new situation. But he did a great job, as before in Compiègne and Balve, and did everything right, except for a few little things." And she continues with satisfaction: "I've never been so convinced of a horse as of Suppenkasper; a horse with great opportunities, who for sure misses routine as he is only nine years old. I do always have to stop myself, to not just take everything he offers me." The second place went to the US-American Kathleen Raine and Breanna (73.05 percent), the third place to the Norwegian Isabel Freese and Bordeaux (72.42 percent).
Christoph Koschel celebrated the second German victory of the day. All five judges set his nine-year-old Hanoverian Belissimo M NRW-son Ballentines on the first rank (70.77 percent).
"Ballentines absolutely develops as desired. After winning the small tour of Wellington/US, it was a successful start in the international medium tour." Obviously Grand Prix is the goal."
With 70.76 percent, Veronique Henschen, the Luxembourg-based European Championship participant, won the Prix St. Georges test on her nine-year-old Westphalian chestnut Ferguson Delux, who, after several national victories and placings in the small tour, now led his first international award ceremony. The sport career soldier Claire-Louise Averkorn placed second on her Condio B (68.97 percent). Kerstin Kronaus/AUT ranked third with 68.81 % and Sir Stanislaus.
Stefan Lehfellner, who had clearly won the opening competition of the seven-year-olds with Roberto Carlos MT, had to be content with the second place in the final competition behind the Luxembourg Kristine Moeller and Standing O'Vation. In the fifth test, the international young horse test for six-year-olds, the national anthem of Italy chimed for Norma Paoli and Lisara (by Lisarro van de Helle).
