The German DOKR dressage selectors of the German equestrian federation have announced the team that will represent Germany at the 2017 European Dressage Championships in Gothenburg, Sweden on 22 - 27 August 2017.
Based on the performances of the riders at the 2017 German Championships in Balve and especially the 2017 CDIO Aachen this weekend, selectors Monica Theodorescu, Klaus Roeser, Michael Klimke and Jonny Hilberath decided on the German team for Gothenburg.
The selectors made a very clear decision based on the results achieved by the riders in Aachen. The four highest scoring German riders in the 4* and 5* tour made it onto the team. They are:
- Isabell Werth - Weihegold (reserve horse Emilio and Don Johnson)
- Sönke Rothenberger - Cosmo
- Dorothee Schneider - Sammy Davis Jr
- Helen Langehanenberg - Damsey
The team reserve is Hubertus Schmidt on Imperio
