The chestnut Daria (by Don Nobless x Rubin Royal) was named the champion of the 2017 Hanoverian Elite Mare Show, also known as the Herwart von der Decken show, held annually in Verden.
Judged by Kevin Lewis (AUS), Theodor Leuchten (GER), Jonny Hilberath (GER), and Dr. Ludwig Christmann (GER), fifty mares split into five groups were presented in front of the judges' panel for assessment.
Johannes and Henrik Brinkmann's chestnut mare Daria (by Don Nobless x Rubin Royal x Sandro Hit) was named the overall champion in the dressage category. Bred at Brinkmann's Gestüt Hülsdau in Marl, Daria stood out with her outstanding quality in hand and under saddle.
Soraya (by San Amour x Weltregent) was named reserve champion. She is bred and owned by Harald Thelker.
In the well known "mare band" division, Brüning's mare family of SPS Faconnable (by Furst Heinrich x Calypso II) won the Herwart von der Decken family title for the third time in the mare's career. This year she presented her daughters SPS Brisbane (by Belissimo M) and a 2-year old nameless Don Frederico daughter. Brisbane HF is currently being competed by Helen Langehanenberg at small tour level.
