Grecian junior rider Theodora Livanos has added a new horse to her string, Petra van Esch's Grand Prix mount Fido Dido.
Fido Dido is an 11-year old Dutch NRPS registered gelding by Florencio out of Nelinora (by Climax). He is bred by M.J. Ewals.
He was first competed as a youngster by Loes Spuls and finished third as a 4-year old in the 2010 Horsefood Dressage Talent competition in The Netherlands.
Petra van Esch took over the ride and brought the horse to Grand Prix level. They competed internationally at small tour level for two years: in 2014 and 2015. Fido Dido won a class at the CDI Kapellen and Roosendaal in 2014. They were also 8th at the 2015 Dutch Small Tour Championships.
Since then the sympathetic and talented bay gelding moved more permanently to Germany for further training and to be sold. Van Esch had been competing Fido Dido in Germany since 2011 but between March 2016 and May 2017 she particularly focused on introducing her horse to Grand Prix in Gemany instead of Holland. Ursula Kufner first competed Fido Dido in an Intermediaire II class and then Van Esch tackled the Grand Prix classes with him.
Two weeks ago Livanos finished fifth in the 2017 European Junior Riders Championships in Roosendaal aboard Stephanie Kooijman's former youth riders' horse Winston.
The Grecian junior is based in Switzerland and trains with Birgit Wientzek-Pläge. The Livanos family already owns a string of horses, including international Grand Prix horse For Compliment who was ridden at the 2015 European Championships by Brigit and is now being shown by her husband Christian Pläge, as wel as rising Grand Prix horse Robinvale (now competed by Birgit) and the 9-year old Dutch small tour horse Delgado which was previously ridden by Bart Veeze.
