For the first time in almost fifteen years years, Victoria Max-Theurer will not be competing in the Austrian Dressage Championships, which are held this year at Gutenhof on 22 - 24 September 2017.
The 13-time, consecutive Austrian Grand Prix champion has decided to give her two Grand Prix horses Blind Date and Della Cavalleria a break.
At the 2017 European Championships in Gothenburg, Max-Theurer placed 34th in the Grand Prix on Blind Date (by Breitling x Donnerhall), her lowest ranking ever at a European Championship as a senior rider. At the 2016 Rio Olympic Games she was also 34th in the Grand Prix, on Della Cavalleria.
Max-Theurer will not be entirely absent from the 2017 Austrian Championships. She will be coaching stable jockey Wolfgang Himsl who is competing in the small tour championship on Sissy Max-Theurer's 8-year old Westfalian stallion Dubrovnik NRW (by Diamond Hit x Regazzoni).
Victoria Max-Theurer has been the consecutive Austrian Grand Prix Champion from 2003 through 2015. In 2016 Belinda Weinbauer won the title.
