The 13-year old Danish warmblood licensed stallion Skovens Rafael sustained a hoof injury in his stall at the 2017 CDI Helsinki in Finland, on Friday 20 October 2017.
Danish Lotte Skjaerbaek was supposed to compete the liver chestnut in the two big tour classes in Helsinki but after a first training session for ring familiarisation, the horse injured himself in the stall. Rafael sustained a big laceration near the bulb of one heel and had to be withdrawn from the competition
Skjaerbaek last competed Skovens Rafael internationally at the CDI Hammaro in July 2017. They won the Grand Prix Special and were second in the Grand Prix there.
Skovens Rafael is bred by Jens Lund Pedersen & Kirsten Hansen and is by Romanov x Don Schufro.
