Krishna (by Elfado x Ivernel) has been proclaimed Trakehenr Mare of the Year 2017 at the 20717 Trakehner Stallion Licensing in Neumunster on Saturday 21 October 2017.
The selection of the Mare of the Year is a traditional highlight alongside the stallion licensing in Neumuenster. The best 3-year-old Trakehner mares competed for this special honour and nine ladies were in the running for the title.
The assessment committee, which included Dr. Astrid von Velsen-Zerweck, the managing director at the Marbach State Stud, proclaimed Krishna the winning mare.
Krishna (by Elfado x Ivernel) is bred and owned by Petra Wilm from the Tasdorf Stud, as Mare of the Year.
“We really liked the riding horse qualities of this highly elegant mare. She is a wonderful representative of her breed," said Dr. Astrid von Velsen-Zerweck. Krishna completed her mare performance with top notes.
The strong mover Una Esmeralda (by Millennium x Hohenstein), who was the Baden-Wuerttemberg regional champion, was proclaimed reserve champion. She is bred by Margit Eisner and owned by Eisner and Koehler, Ahorn-Buch).
“This large framed mare had highlights in trot and won us over with her great form," praised Dr. Astrid von Velsen-Zerweck.
On Sunday 22 October 2017 Krishna sold at auction to Austria for 60,000 euro.
