Dutch warmblood breeder Arthur Kleijwegt has passed away unexpectedly on Saturday evening 2 December 2017. Kleijwegt is the breeder of KWPN licensed stallion Gunner and former owner of KWPN licensed stallion Four Legends KS.
"What started as a fun day became the worst nightmare. Our dearest, greatest dad died suddenly from cardiac failure in the stable with the horses, which was his great hobby. So horrible and unreal," daughter Suzanne wrote on her Facebook page.
Suzanne Klijwegt is a former international dressage rider who competed at FEI pony level with Dano's Miracle KS from 2013 till 2016. She is now moved on to horses and competes Zento at national level.
Arthur Kleijwegt had a very succesful KWPN breeding stable going, KS Horses, based in Heinkenszand, The Netherlands. He bought the licensed stallions Four Legends KS (originally named Fellini KS) at the KWPN Select Sale. Four Legends finished fourth at the 2016 World Young Horse Championships. Kleijwegt bred and owned Gunner KS (by Belissimo M), who represented The Netherlands at the 2016 and 2017 World Young Horse Championships. Four Legends KS sold at the Excellent Dressage Sales auction for 605,000 euro to Taiwan.
Arthur leaves behind his wife Annette and two daughters Suzanne and Ilse.
