A Dante Weltino x Fidertanz son became the champion of the 2018 South German Stallion Licensing for German Sport Horses (DSP) held in Munich, Germany, on 25 - 27 January 2018.
Bred by Franz Winkelmaier in Buch am Erlbach, Germany, the Dante Weltino x Fidertanz x Rohdiamant stood out with his scope in movement and strong hind leg.
The colt also became the price highlight of the auction, selling for 210,000 euro to the Neustadt/Dosse state stud, who has struck a co-operation with Isabell Werth for the training of this colt and Madeleine Winter-Schulze aiding to secure the sport rights of the stallion. Neustadt/Dosse persevered in a tough bidding duel with Matthias Rath for his step mom Ann Kathrin Linsenhoff.
Forty dressage bred colts were entered for the 2018 South German licensing, 37 actually showed up and 15 of them were licensed. The committee selected five premium dressage stallions: Amazing Spirit x Lord Loxley, Diamond Hit x Don Larino, Escolar x Sandreo and Franziskus x Belissimo M.
The non-premium licensed Hanoverian bred colt by Furstenball x Stedinger x Charon became the second most expensive horse at the auction, selling to Sissy Max-Theurer for 150,000 euro.
Matthias Rath and Ann Kathrin Linsenhoff purchased Zaparto (by Zalando x Don Diamond) for 90,000 euro. The Oldenburg bred Sezuan x Sandr Hit sold for 72,000 euro
The most expensive non-licensed stallion was the Van Vivaldi x Quadroneur, which sold for 95,000 euro to Victoria Max-Theurer. The non-licensed Fahrenheit x Diamond Hit switched owners for 54,000 euro.
The average price for a licensed colt in Munich this year was 60,596 euro, a non-licensed stallion cost 24,950 on average.
