Dutch Under 25 Grand Prix rider Anne Meulendijks has been named the KNHS Talent of the Year 2017 by the Dutch Equestrian Federation.
Meulendijks was honoured with the title and celebrated at the 2018 CDI-W Amsterdam on Saturday 27 January 2018. Anne succeeds Dutch show jumper Sanne Thijssen as Talent of the Year.
"Anne Meulendijks did something very unique in 2017," said KNHS Technical Director Maarten van der Heijden. "She won everything in the lion's den, in Aachen. Triple gold, in the team test, classical test and the Kur. Furthermore she won the Dutch (U25) title and team and individual silver at the 2017 European Under 25 Championships in Lamprechtshausen. With her horse Avanti submitted to the NOP sponsorship plan, Anne is in the picture as a senior for the upcoming World Equestrian Games in Tryon."
Meulendijks is yet to make her international senior Grand Prix debut. At national level she rode her first senior GP test and scored 71%.
The KNHS Talent of the Year is chosen by the team trainers, trainers, the press and public vote. All verdicts put together led to Meulendijks winning the title. Under 25 rider Jill Huybregts won the public vote.
