Amanda Renouard will deliver the high-performance plan for Dressage and Para Dressage, and will take responsibility for planning, monitoring, selection and performance at international level for European Championships, World Equestrian Games and Olympic Games competition.

She has subsequently worked in both PR and marketing, during which time she has also acted as rider representative for a number of leading international equestrian athletes.

Amanda acted as Chef d’Equipe for the Irish Dressage Team at the World Equestrian Games in Normandy 2014 and regularly attends high level equestrian events across Europe.

Speaking about her appointment Amanda said; “Having a team for Dressage at the World Equestrian Games in 2014 created a wave of enthusiasm for the sport in Ireland. We are seeing this at every level. The key international riders have represented their country well, broken records and have paved the way for new riders to be inspired to ride for their nation. I am delighted to be part of developing a structure that will create international athletes and success from ponies all the way to the senior championships.”

Anne Marie Dunphy has been reappointed as Dressage High Performance Manager for the Irish Pony (U16), Junior (U18) and Young Rider (U21) teams. Anne Marie will have the responsibility for devising and implementing a High-Performance Programme, selecting and preparing a squad for the European Championships and acting as Chef d’Equipe for the European Championships.

Dunphy, a native of Castlecomer, Co. Kilkenny, is one of Ireland’s leading Dressage coaches and riders. Having worked in many areas of the horse sport industry before specialising in Dressage, Anne Marie is also a HSI Level 3 Dressage coach and Sport Ireland tutor with extensive experience producing athletes to High Performance level. As a Grand Prix rider with international experience since 2001 and the reigning Irish National Dressage Champion, she has an in-depth knowledge of top level competitive dressage.

Anne Marie Dunphy commented; “I am delighted to continue my involvement with the underage High Performance Programme. Since its inception in 2014, much progress has been made raising the participation and standard of youth dressage in Ireland. I am very much looking forward to leading the next phase of development which will see more of our young Dressage athletes make their mark on the international stage as part of their journey to the senior ranks.“

Horse Sport Ireland CEO Ronan Murphy added; “This is a very exciting time for Dressage in Ireland with the sport growing considerably on the back of excellent performances on the international stage. I want to congratulate both Amanda and Anne Marie on their appointments. We are very lucky to have these two very experienced individuals involved in our High-Performance Programmes and we are looking forward to what promises to be a busy season ahead, including the World Equestrian Games at senior level and European Championships for our young athletes.”
