The 10-year old licensed KWPN stallion Dark Pleasure has been sold to Anne Howard in the U.S.A.

Bred by Wouter Plaizier in The Netherlands, Dark Pleasure is by Ufo out of Wild Pleasure (by Jazz).

He was approved at the 2011 KWPN Stallion Licensing and passed the performance testing in the autumn that same year, scoring W.L. a total of 78 points. He got 7.5 for walk, trot and self carriage, 8 for canter, suppleness and dressage potential and 8.5 for rideability.

The stallion's competition career began under German Jana Freund, who rode him in the 2012-2013 KWPN Stallion Competition circuit and finished 17th in the semi-finals of the 2012 Pavo Cup. However, in December 2012 the stallion moved to Gerdine Maree's yard when Jana got pregnant.

In 2013 Dark Pleasure qualified to compete at the World Young Horse Championships in Verden, but was withdrawn just a few days before the show due to an injury. Maree returned with him late 2014 to ride the KWPN Stallion Competition circuit again and finished fourth in the 2015 Finals at Z-level.

In the early spring of 2016, Dark Pleasure moved yards again and was put in training with Femke de Laat. She acquired a co-ownership share in the stallion in partnership with Dirk Kosters.

Dark Pleasure has now been sold to Anne Howard (née Schmidt) from the United States. She is known for having purchased and sold the licensed stallions Etoine and Finery, as well as for having bred Her Majesty, which recently sold as a Grand Prix hopeful to RS2 Dressage.

Dark Pleasure has sired one licensed son, It's a Pleasure, and has been trained up to small tour level.
