The 5-year old Fernando and the 6-year old Lavissaro became the winners of the Bundeschampionate qualification classes held at the Catharinenhof equestrian centre in Wedel, Germany, on 19 - 20 May 2018.
Fourteen combinations contested the L-level division for 5-year olds and Jakob Schenk rode his Hanoverian gelding Fernando (by Foundation x Danone II) to victory with an 8.3 score. Shereen Giese an her Hanoverian stallion San Cloud's Lucky (by San Amour x Wolkenstein II) were the runners-up with 8.0.
Ten pairs campaigned the M-level division for 6-year olds and Sonja Marie Ellerbrock surfaced at the top with the home bred Holsteiner gelding Lavissaro (by Lissaro x Aljano) on a powerful score of 8.9 points. Anna-Sophie Fiebelkorn and Gestut Sprehe's Hanoverian licensed stallion Le Vivaldi (by Vivaldi x Sandro Hit) were second with 8.6.
