At the international horse show, Equitour Aalborg, the organisers have gathered an outstanding collection of well- moving foals that are put up for auction Saturday 26 May 2018.
When Nordic International Sales was held for the first time in 2017, it proved a roaring success as it also had a sensational collection of foals sold at extremely high prices
On 26 May 2018 at 20.00, the Nordic International Sales (NIS) wil be held during the international show jumping and dressage show, Equitour Aalborg at Helgstrand Academy in Uggerhalne. At this event, top foals from various studbooks are gathered at an awesome auction.
Last year, Nordic International Sales beat all European foal auction records as for top price and average price and this year, NIS once again offers a collection of foals of exceptional standard. Among these is a full-sister to the filly that became Europe’s most expensive auction foal last year at the knock-down price of EUR 150,000, and which later became DWB Dressage Filly Foal Champion 2017. Full-sister, Faretti II by Franklin/Don Frederico (bred by Henrik Hansen, Solrød), is of just as high standard with excellent type and movements in a league of her own. It will be exciting to see if this high-class filly remains on Danish hands or if foreign customers will draw the long straw.
Actually, Faretti II is not the only foal of outstanding international standard. From the same breeder comes a filly, Fellini by Franklin, whose dam, Souvenir is a mare of a completely unique pedigree, as her parents are the only two triple world champions in history, Sezuan and Fiontini. That is one of the strongest performance pedigrees available, and a dam line in the international top league.
The foals in this year’s auction collection generally have impressive performance pedigrees. The sires to the 22 foals are Franklin (9), Vitalis (2), Revolution (2), Bonds (1), Floriscount (1), Ibiza (1), Quaterhit (1), Sezuan (1), Fallstaff (1), Danone I (1), Valverde (1) and Millennium (1).
Two new foals at the Nordic international Sales
One of the most spectacular movers and the most expensive colts at last year’s auction was Tophøjs Ferrari by Floriscount/Tailormade Temptation (bred by Anette Nilausen and Niels Jørgen Johansen, Hobro), sold to the international Grand Prix rider Cathrine Rasmussen. His full-sister and yet another foal from the same dam line have been put up for auction in the last minute. The two foals share the same grand dam as the previous Danish young horse champion, Rockson that already now at the age of 7 years has several international victories in Intermediaire. This means that the foal collection at Nordic International Sales is complete and stands out as an exclusive collection of attractive and interesting foals holding a very promising future within dressage.

The presentation of the auction foals Saturday at 12.00 will be live streamed on Zibrasport as will the auction on Saturday at 20.00 through this link HERE.
