The internationally competed Grand Prix stallion Dream Boy will temporarily not stand at stud. The KWPN licensed stallion has been selected on the Dutch team for the 2018 CDIO Rotterdam and his sport career has been given priority.
Ridden by Hans Peter Minderhoud, Dream Boy is one of four horses representing the Netherlands in the CHIO Rotterdam Nations Cup. This show serves as a Dutch qualifier for the 2018 World Equestrian Games in Tryon (USA).
Dream Boy (by Vivaldi x Ferro) is one of Holland's most used Dutch warmblood licensed stallions and combining sport with breeding will be too much at the movement.
"As a result of the very positive trend in sporting performance of this ten-year-old KWPN stallion, the decision has been reached, together with the co-owners, to withdraw Dream Boy from breeding activities for a while," said owner Glock on his Facebook page
"The path to the 2018 World Equestrian Games in Tryon begins in Rotterdam and, shortly thereafter, the National Championships in Ermelo are also taken into account for qualification. At the moment this cannot be reconciled with continuous breeding activity and is therefore the reason for the decision to withdraw GLOCK’s Dream Boy temporarily from covering."
