Young guns Nicholas Wagner and Estelle Wettstein showed the seniors the way to win in the big tour at the 2018 CDI Achleiten on 7 - 10 June 2018.
Hosted at Sissy Max-Theurer's castle Achleiten in Rohr, Austria, the 2018 edition of the CDI Achleiten drew out a large field of eastern European riders, especially in the youth divisions.
After sweeping the CDI-W Mariakalnok in Hungary at their Grand Prix debut, Luxembourg's Nicolas Wagner and his Hanoverian bred Quater Back Junior (by Quaterback) also swept the Special tour in Achleiten. With a 71.565% in the Grand Prix and 70.170% in the Special, Wagner topped the board in a group of 11 riders.
Switzerland's Estelle Wettstein has also made a smashing break through at senior Grand Prix level this spring. With a first start at the CDI Aachen just two weeks ago, Wettstein and her former Swiss young rider's team horse West Side Story (by San Amour x Donnerhall) achieved banging results in the Kur tour in Achleiten. Estelle and her 10-year old mare scored 70.348% in the Grand Prix and 75.150% in the Kur for a double victory.
