The 5-year old De Sandro and the 6-year old Beltani became the winners of the two Bundeschampionate qualification classes held at the regional show in Erbes-Budesheim, Germany, on Sunday 1 July 2018.
Eleven 5-year olds were judged by Pascal Strohbücker, Friedelinde Kohl and Jens-Ingolf Schlittgen and they preferred Carolin Brandt on Scheier's German Sport Horse stallion De Sandro (by Decurio x Samba Hit). The black stallion totaled 8.1. with 8.5 for walk and canter, 7.5 for trot, and 8 for submission and general impression. Claudia Rassmann and the Westfalian stallion Van Damm (by Vitalis x Fleury) were second with 8.0. The chestnut stallion got 8s for walk, trot, canter, submission and general impression.
A group of twelve 6-year olds was assessed by Pascal Strohbücker, Guido Jahn and Martin Kröninger and they placed Stefanie Lugge-Kerner and Rolf-Dieter Brennemann's Oldenburg gelding Beltani (by Belissimo M x Wolkentanz II) first with 8.2. The liver chestnut got 8.5 for walk and trot, 8 for canter, 7.5 for submission and 8.5 for general impression. Three horses tied in second place with 8.0: Katja Galmbacher and her father Hans Weisbrod's Bavarian stallion Boss Hoss (by Belissimo M x Romanov), Kim Pfeiffer on Marc Lingelbach's Hanoverian stallion Furst Douglas (by Furstenball x Hohenstein) and Claudia Rassmann on her own Westfalian gelding Furst Donnerhall (by Furstenball x Sir Donnerhall).
