The 7-year old Holsteiner licensed stallion Champagner has been sold to Russian Maria Klementieva back in April.

Bred by Erja Aholainen and previously owned by Wilhelm Rüscher-Konermann, Champagner is by Catoo out of Simsalabim (by Aljano x Caletto II x Raimond).

The bay was approved for breeding at the very small ZfDP licensing  in Kreuth in December 2013. The Westfalian verband approved him in 2017. He did his 30-day stallion performance test in Munster-Handorf in November 2014 and achieved 7.54 points with 7.75 for dressage and 6.90 for show jumping.

The stallion was first started by Claudia Rüscher, but Kira Wegmann soon took over in 2014. In 2016 Rüscher was back in the saddle and the pair made a big splash winning silver at the 2016 Bundeschampionate in Warendorf.  Champagner was fourth in the preliminary round with 8.20 points and in the finals he finished second with 8.80. The pair got 9 for trot and canter, 8 for walk and 9 for submission and general impression.

In 2017 Rüscher showed the stallion at one qualifier in Haftenkamp and then placed 12th in the Bundeschampionate finals for 6-year olds.

Champagner has not competed this year and is now sold to Russia.
