Three colts - Fonq, Kostolany B, and Kingly Utopia - have dropped out of the 2018 KWPN Autumn Stallion Performance Testing which is half way at the KWPN headquarters in Ermelo, The Netherlands.
The 2018 KWPN Autumn stallion performance testing has been taking longer than expected as an outbreak of Equine Herpes Virus happened at the KNHS headquarters, which put the testing on hold. One horse tested posted to EHV-1 on Friday 26 October and two horses showed clinical signs. They were quarantined. On 6 November they were negative to EHV-1 and the testing resumed.
All three horses who were quarantined to contain the EHV-1 outbreak have now dropped out. Fonq (by Furst Fohlenhof x Lissaro van de Helle) was picked up by his owner Eugene Reesink on 6 November.
The other two colts, Kingly Utopia (by Expression x Uphill) has been picked up by Alex van Silfhout because the stallion got behind on the training schedule. The 2018 KWPN reserve licensing champion Kostolany B (by Toto Jr x Jazz) also got behind and will be picked up by owner Rob van Puijenbroek.
They will all get the opportunity to redo the testing in the spring of 2019.
