Dresssage continued to take centre stage in Poland moving the action from the CDI Radzionkow in September, to the CDI-W Zakrzow at the end of October and finally to the CDI Sopot on 9 - 11 November 2018. Home-side heroes Katarzyna Milczarek and Mateusz Cichon topped the board in the big tour classes and claimed the trophies.
Eleven combinations from countries ranging from Russia to Italy were entered for the Grand Prix. Polish team routinier and national champion Katarzyna Milczarek and her 12-year Oldenburg gelding Dzeko (by Dimaggio x Continue) aced the class on a score of 69.413% but she had the competition right behind her. Team mate Mateusz Cichon and his 11-year old Hanoverian bred Herzregent (by Hotline x Alabaster) were not far behind in second place with 68.848%. Italian Silvia Rizzo has begun her campaign on her new horse, the 12-year old Hanoverian gelding Ducati (by Don Crusador x Rotspon). After a solid 66.5% start at the CDI Saumur in September, Rizzo showed more progress in Sopot and finished third with 67.130%.
Milczarek went on to win the Grand Prix Special with 69.064%, while Cichon bagged the Kur to Music on 71.825%.
At small tour level Polish Agnieszka Wisniewska and her 10-year old Polish warmblood bred Tara achieved a double whammy taking out the Prix St Georges with 68.441% and the Intermediaire I with 69.412%. She finished second in the Inter I freestyle on 68.650% behind Latvian Elza Zake on Jaroslavs Trubanovs' 9-year old Westfalian bred A Splash of Class (by Arthur V x Grannus) who grabbed the trophy with 69.010%.
