Dutch Grand Prix rider Anne Meulendijks got injured in a car accident on Sunday evening 9 December 2018.
Meulendijks got reared ended on the motorway after she had to brake. The car behind her did not see that she reduced speed in the dark, rainy weather and hit her new Mini Cooper from behind.
Meulendijks first went to the doctor and then the hospital, where she was diagnosed with a whiplash and concussion. She was treated by the physiotherapist and her back got taped. She will need to wear a corset for her back for a while and undergo further physiotherapy as well as rest.
This is the second time that Meulendijks sustained a concussion. In February 2017 she got kicked in the head by a horse in the stall.
