De Koonig Son, Champion of the 2019 South German Stallion Licensing

A De Koonig x Destano colt was named champion of the 2019 South German Stallion Licensing in Munich, Germany, on Saturday 26 January 2019. 

Seventy-eight colts were presented for licensing, 40 got licensed and 8 dressage bred colts were named premium stallion

A Baden Wurttemberger bred De Koonig x Destano x Harvard colt, bred by Konrad Mensch and owned by Henrich Ramsbrock, was named the champion of the licensing. 

The reserve champion was Sabine Reisenauer's Wurttemberger bred Apache x Lord Falo S x Cabaret. 

The other premium stallions were an Oldenburg bred Bon Coeur x Rotspon (bred by Schitz-May, owned by Birkhof), a Hanoverian bred Buckingham x Sir Donnerhall (bred by Martin Honigfort, owned by Antonius Schulze-Averdiek), a Westfalian bred De Kooning x Christ (bred and owned by Heinrich Ramsbrock), a Rhinelander bred Don Romanov x San Amour (bred by Werner Rückgauer, owned by Manuel Feige), a Wurttemberger bred Millennium x San Amour (bred by Bernhard Schumm, owned by Gestüt Sprehe) and a Hanoverian bred Sir Heinrich x De Niro (bred by Michaela Kaldewei, owned by Heinrich Ramsbrock).

At the auction following the licensing the premium colt by Buckingham became the best seller, switching owners for 300,000 euro. The licensing champion was not for sale. Sprehe's Millennium x San Amour sold for 100,000 euro to Sissy Max-Theurer. Sprehe had acquired the colt as a foal at the foal 2016 foal Auction in Nordlingen.

The licensed Antango x De Chirico fetched 72,000 euro, the licensed Dante Weltino x Rousseau sold for 50,000 euro to the Baumgurtel family. The licensed Finest x De Niro sold for 48,000 euro, while the premium colt by Apache x Lord Falo S sold for 45,000 euro. The premium Don Romanov x San Amour sold for 46,000 euro.

A licensed stallion at this auction sold for an average price of 49,741 euro, a non-licensed stallion averaged 18,108 euro.
