Lisbet Seierskilde's career-making Grand Prix horse Jonstrupgaardens Raneur has passed away at age 20.

Jonstrupgaardens Raneur was by Ragazzo out of a Schwadroneur dam. He was bred and owned by the Seierskilde family. The horse was nick named "Nørden" at home.

Under Lisbet Seierskilde the long legged, bright bay gelding made his show debut as a 6-year old in 2005.

They began their international career in the Under 25 division in 2010 and in 2011 they moved onto the senior Grand Prix tour. They representing Denmark at the 2011 European Championships in Rotterdam, where they were 14th in the Kur to Music, and won the 2011 Danish Grand Prix Championships. Their career culminated in the ultimate dream a year later, competing as individuals at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, where they were 32nd in the Grand Prix.

In 2012 Jonstrupgaardens Raneur was named the Danish Warmblood Horse of the Year at the stallion licensing in Herning. They competed at international Grand Prix level through 2016, their last show being the CDI Odense in May 2016.

Raneur was retired from sport two years ago. He was euthanized last week, because of a knee injury which prevented him from having a pain free, comfortable retirement.

"I knew every square inch of his body and every corner of his curly mind," said Lisbet Seierskilde. "I am proud of the journey we took together and the experiences he gave to my whole family and my team, but most of all grateful that he showed me the confidence that I had to be his human and rider."
