The 5-year old Hawtins Lirica, the 6-year old Izaloe and the 7-year old Heraldik became the winners of the young horses classes held at the 2019 CDI Bolesworth on 13 June 2019.
The tests counted as British qualifier for the 2019 World Championships for Young Dressage Horses later this summer in Ermelo, The Netherlands.
The 2018 British 4-year old champion Hawtins Lirica (by Lemony's Nicket x Dimaggio) remains in charge of the 5-year olds as well. Under Hawtins' resident trainer Lucinda Elliot, the British Hanoverian bred mare scored 81.80 points with 8.9 for trot, 8 for walk, 8.5 for canter, 7.5 for submission and 8 for general impression. Lirica is bred and owned by Judith Davis. Dan Greenwood steered Sara Lucas' Danish bred mare SJL Baks Zacco (by Zack x Don Schufro) to a second place with 79.80 points. The gelding scored 6.9 for walk, 8.5 fo rtrot and canter and 8 for submission and general impression.
Young professional Alex Hardwick dominated the 6-year old division aboard her own KWPN mare Izaloe (by Jazz x Rhodium) with 78.000 points. The mare earned 8 for walk and trot, 7.7 for canter, 7.2 for submission and 8.1 for general impression. Zoe Sleigh and the Oldenburg gelding For Rome (by For Romance x Donnerhall) were the runners-up with 77.80 points. the gelding got 8 for walk and trot, 7.5 for canter, 7.4 for submission and 8 for general impression.
Elizabeth Allen and the KWPN bred gelding Heraldik (by Uphill x Silvano N) topped the board in the 7-year old division with 71.943%. The gelding got 7.9 for trot, 7 for walk and canter, 8 for submission and 7.4 for general impression. Beth Bainbridge and Anna Ross' KWPN mare Habouche (by Ampere x Sydney) were second on 70.343%. The mare earned 7.8 for trot, 7.5 for walk, 7.2 for canter, 6.8 for submission and 7.4 for general impression.
