Isabell Werth and the 15-year old Westfalian mare Bella Rose shone brightly in the Grand Prix for Special at the 2019 CDI Fritzens on sunny, summery Friday afternoon 28 June 2019.
The 25th edition of the Manfred and Hilde Swarovski Memorial Show at Klaus and Evelyn Haim-Swarovski's equestrian centre Schindlhof in the Tyrolean Alps is blessed with glorious wetter and a stellar cast of elite Grand Prix riders. The Grand Prix for Special boasted a field of 20 combinations.
Celebrating her sponsor Madeleine Winter-Schulze's birthday today with their 13th CDI victory in a row, Werth and Bella Rose have enraptured the judges also in Fritzens. They posted a winning score of 82.957% with her marks going from 80.870% to a whopping 85.109% between the judges individually. Only at the 2019 German Championships in Balve a few weeks ago, Bella Rose ended her winning streak when she placed fourth in the Special, but this was at a national show. Internationally she has proven herself to be unbeatable since her come back to the show ring at the CDI Fritzens in 2018, exactly one year ago after an almost four year break from sport due to injury.
Werth's student Lisa Müller achieved a personal best score on her 12-year old Oldenburg gelding Stand By Me (by Stedinger x De Niro) in Fritzens. With 75.478% they were second behind their trainer.
Ireland's Judy Reynolds and her 17-year old Dutch warmblood gelding Vancouver K (by Jazz x Ferro) completed the top three after posting 75.000%.
